The 2011 Dragon Boat Race
Hawes Signs is entering a team into the 2011 Dragon Boat Race held at Beckett's Park on Northampton on Sunday 17th July. We've entered a team in previous years and know it's a great day out. This year it's even bigger and better with a funfair, children?s games, quad bikes, two pig roasts, two other food outlets, a tea tent and a bar!

Macmillan Fundraising Update
3 June 2011
So far this year we have raised 323 GBP for Macmillan through a combination of mufti days, cakes sales, competitions and sweepstakes.
The Northampton General Hospital haematology unit provides care for people with cancers such as leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Help Macmillan to raise money to build an updated and vastly improved haematology unit so they can help even more people.

Money raised for Macmillan
We have a long history of fundraising at Hawes Signs and through a Mufti day and Guess the Name of the Bear competition our lovely employees have raised 85 pounds for Macmillan in the last couple of weeks. Our next fundraising event is the ever-popular cake sale on 11th March which we are all looking forward to. Brownie anyone?

We are delighted to announce that our employees have voted for Macmillan to be the recipient of all our fundraising activities in 2011.
We are holding a mufti day on Friday 25 February and having a guess the name of the bear competition w/c 21 February. We hope to raise over 100 pounds from these events.

Our 2009-2010 Charity of the Year is Unique
Hawes Signs staff have voted for Unique to become our 'Charity of the Year' for 2009 and 2010. Unique is a source of information and support to families and individuals affected by any rare chromosome disorder and to the professionals who work with them. Their mission is to inform, support and alleviate the isolation of anyone affected by a rare chromosome disorder and to raise public awareness.

Topaz Press Release
Topaz Energy is Ireland's largest energy supplier and, to build a retail network, it has taken over the whole retail networks of Shell and Statoil in Ireland. Topaz developed their own brand and tendered the contract to rebrand all 350 Shell and Statoil petrol stations during six months in 2008 - a very challenging programme. Hawes is delighted to have won this contract.

A fantastic job by Hawes Signs at Tesco Mansfield
At the beginning of June 2007 Hawes Signs completed a 60,000 square foot large format Tesco store at Mansfield Chesterfield Road, and despite being severely held up by other suppliers not completing their work before us on time, we still managed to complete on time and without any snags.

Hawes Signs impresses Toyota GB with new 9m pole sign
In July 2006 Hawes Signs installed a striking 9m pole sign at Toyota GB sites in Bury and Salford Quays. These were the first of their size for Toyota GB. They were designed and manufactured in Northampton and the request came to us at very short notice.
The Facilities Development Manager for Toyota GB said , "I reviewed the 9m pole type sign at Salford Quays and the sign looked stunning; good design, good proportions, well finished, proper making good and a happy dealership - an excellent job!"
Now we have mastered the 9m pole sign, we look forward to the forthcoming 12m pole sign installation due in Birmingham during September.

For the last 9 years Retail Week magazine has organised the Retail Interiors Awards, which are established as the industry standard in recognising excellence in store design and construction. This year, in the Food & Supermarket Design of the Year category, the newly designed Tesco store in Kensington, for which we provided a new sign concept design, was in the top 3.

Hawes Signs re-brands Lunn Poly to Thomson in 24 days
Hawes Signs, corporate identity sign manufacturer, was responsible for re-branding over 300 Lunn Poly holiday shops to Thomson throughout the UK. The programme of installation started in early December 2004 and was completed over a 24 day period in time for the key holiday booking period in January 2005. A challenging project!

Hawes Signs improves environmental footprint
During the annual renegotiation of the electricity supply contract the option of taking electricity from renewable sources was investigated and we are pleased to announce that we have entered into a new electricity agreement that uses power generated with 50% use of renewable sources, giving us an improved environmental footprint.
